INTRODUCTION TO ANIMAL PORTRAITURE IN ACRYLIC
This workshop is great for beginners who want to learn the basics of painting animals with acrylics as well as experienced artists who want to expand their skills in animal portrait painting.
Students will learn:
- How to create a template and transfer it to canvas
- How to create shading, work with values and add interest and dimension to animal portraits
- Techniques for working with acrylics in creating animal portraits so they can move on to more detailed pieces
- Best materials to use and where to find them
PET PORTRAITURE IN OIL
This workshop is great for anyone wanting to learn how to create vivid, realistic oil portraits of their favorite pet. Definitely check out the complimentary detailed instructions going over how to photograph a pet before you get started.
Students will learn:
- How to photograph a pet to get a great painting reference photo
- How to transfer lines from your photograph to painting surface
- Steps to creating soulful eyes and realistic fur
- An understanding of color values and contrasts
TEXTURE DRAWING IN PEN & INK : SPRING CHICKADEE
This workshop is great for anyone wanting to learn how to sketch.
- How to understand value and incorporate it into a drawing
- Various hatching techniques and what pens to use
- Finishing steps for removing the preliminary sketch and creating a clean pen and ink drawing

Learn the steps to painting animals and create a portrait of your pet or animal of choice. Not only is this a fun new skill to learn but these also make incredible gifts if you want a jump on Christmas. All levels are welcome. This is an introductory course to my in-depth live workshop in Chattanooga TN this December. (Sign-up on events page)

- After you register for the class I will reach out to you for guidance in selecting a photograph of your pet to use for the painting.
- Outlines of your pet will be drawn on your canvas so you will be ready to paint upon arrival.
- All paints and supplies will be provided, and you can order beer, wine, craft spiked seltzer or kombucha to sip on while you paint. The H3SH3R BBQ CO. Kitchen Food Truck will also be on site at 1pm if you get hungry
- During our time, I will lead you step-by-step through the painting process so you end up with a beautiful portrait of your furry friend!
- In addition, with Christmas around the corner, these also make great gifts!
